I hope that you are looking forward to attending the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Pacific Seabird Group in online. This year we are going virtual and 100% of our content will be online.  The theme of this year’s meeting is “Apart Together for Seabirds” which reflects our steadfast commitment to seabirds, conservation, science and each other, in spite of the isolation and separation forced upon us by the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The general sessions will be complemented by plenary speakers, a discussion forum, a Hot Topics Lightning Round, and many other sessions and events in development. We hope to have a diverse array of submitted abstracts to round out the scientific program

Conference Theme

STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) have been traditionally thought of as heterosexual, masculine fields and the thought of this can be quite intimidating for those just starting out in the field who don’t fit this mold.  This project showcases LGBTQ+ people in the STEM fields, showing the diversity of people that can be found in roles all across the STEM disciplines and hopefully providing some role models for people who are either at a junior stage in their careers, or who are only currently considering the possibility of going into a STEM field.

The future of Science relies on innovation, and the way to get it is to make sure that people from all walks of life enter the profession.  LGBTQ+ individuals are an important part of this diversity.
