Upcoming Ecology Conferences
British Ecological Society Annual Meeting 2020
Date: December 14th - 18th
Abstract Deadline: October 12th
Registration Deadline: December 4th
Conference Theme
Join us in December as the largest and most welcoming ecology conference in Europe – the British Ecological Society’s Annual Meeting – moves online this year. The online conference will have the great advantage of being accessible to even more people around the world. Join in wherever you are to share the latest research, meet new colleagues and develop your career.
While we would have loved to meet in person, having considered various options it is now clear that an online conference is the best way to prioritise health and safety and deal with the uncertainty brought by the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition, going digital allows us to run a large variety of activities over more days with the opportunity to catch up on things later that you might have missed. A real Festival of Ecology.
EVOLMAR 2020

We are glad to announce the First Italian Conference on Marine Evolution (Primo Congresso Italiano di Evoluzione Marina), EVOLMAR 2020. The conference is organized by the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, Naples (SZN) and the Italian Society for Evolutionary Biology (SIBE-ISEB), and will take place in an entirely virtual format during the last week of November 2020.
The meeting will feature a combination of invited keynotes, contributed talks and posters. The scientific committee will evaluate submitted abstracts and arrange them in a program revolving around 4 thematic areas: macroevolution, populations and species, adaptation, biodiversity.
A number of prizes and awards will be made available for the best presentations by graduate students and junior researchers.
Scandinavian Association for Pollination Ecology 2020

Conference Theme
The Scandinavian Association for Pollination Ecology is an annual scientific meeting, usually held in October each year. It typically alternates between venues in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. However in recent years it has been held in “wider Scandinavia” – Ireland in 2018 and England in 2020
SCAPE has taken place every year since it’s first meeting in Uppsala, Sweden, in 1987 and is the world’s longest-running conference devoted to pollination ecology, pollinator conservation, plant reproduction, pollinator behaviour and diversity, flower evolution, and related subjects.
Machine Learning in Computational Biology 2020
Date: November 23rd - 24th
Conference Theme
The goals of the MLCB meeting are to i) present emerging problems and innovative machine learning techniques in computational biology, and ii) generate discussion on how to best model the intricacies of biological data and synthesize and interpret results in light of the current work in the field.
In addition to talks by invited speakers, will also have the usual rigorous screening of contributed talks on novel learning approaches in computational biology. The targeted audience are people with interest in machine learning and applications to relevant problems from the life sciences, including NIPS participants without any existing research link to computational biology. Many of the talks will be of interest to the broad machine learning community.
